About Us

Compu-File originated in Paramount, CA in 1987 as a sole proprietorship business offering custom programming and network solutions for small and medium sized business as well as hardware-software solutions for home users.  Owner, Lynne Anderson, has always enjoyed "helping" people.

Lynne first became fascinated with home PC's in the early 80's and built a Heathkit H-89 model computer which contained 64k memory, 3 floppy drives and utilized a C/PM operating system. Soon to follow were the 8086 and 8088 processors followed by the 80386 and 80486 with DOS operating systems.  The computers alone were not interesting enough until Lynne began creating custom programs to perform many tasks. Initially, dBase and/or Cobol code generation were utilized for the custom programming which worked very well for small and medium sized business's in the latter part of the 80's.

In 1989, Lynne was recruited by American President Trucking, a division of the Fortune 500 company American President Lines, to create a custom dBase program for the City of Commerce office.  This offered visibility and he was later transferred to the Corporate office in Oakland, CA where he began Cobol programming on IBM-3270 / 3290 mainframe computers.

In 1993, Lynne left the Corporate world to further grow his own business "Compu-File".  As time progressed, Compu-File began providing network solutions for many small and medium sized business's including several hotels in the Northern California Bay Area.

Compu-File moved to Reno, NV in June of 2000 but mostly continued working with previous clients in California via remote access and occasional commute.  Remote access Accounting was also added to Compu-File's activities.  Lynne did accept a few contracts in the Reno area such as upgrading a major insurance company claims office.  The AS400 server was upgraded to an NT Server and the IBM dumb terminals replaced with 40 new NT workstations plus 6 docking stations and the Reno office was connected with 4 national Data Centers. Lynne said this was a fun project and all of the personnel were terrific people to work with.

2006 - Compu-File has incorporated and decided to expand into additional endeavors.

The most recent endeavor was to create this new website www.reno-home-locator.com to help everyone searching for their dream home or property in the Reno area by displaying multiple pictures and contact information in order to easily connect with the seller or agent.  Searches can be made by price, size and specification descriptions.
